PewDiePie’s Tuber Simulator, developed by Montreal-based Outerminds, is the latest game created in collaboration with the world’s most famous Swedish YouTuber, media brand Revelmode, and GameSparks, which upon launch sent the internet berserk – going on to smash the seven day install record for a celebrity branded mobile game.

With a monumental YouTube following of over 48 million subscribers, both Outerminds and GameSparks knew to expect great things from the launch of PewDiePie’s Tuber Simulator, however no one foresaw the unprecedented speed at which the famous YouTube star’s Bro Army and other gamers from across the globe took to the app stores to see the game rocket through the charts, straight to the global #1 position in just 20 hours.
Such unparalleled load from hundreds of thousands of concurrently connected users (CCUs) could have seen even the most prominent developer’s games crumble under the pressure. However, by working with GameSparks, Outerminds built PewDiePie’s Tuber Simulator to be a highly scalable, server authoritative game.
