News: Develop names GameSparks in list of 100 most likely to change games industry in 2014

We are delighted to announce that Gamesparks has made the Develop magazine list of the top 100 Companies that are on course to change games industry over the next 12 months.

Develop 100 Top Games Companies GameSparks

“Every games company listed is working on something big or laying foundations for a new shift in the industry.” said James Batchelor, Editor of Develop in his opening comments of the publication. “We thought long and hard about everything that is due this year – not just games but tools and technologies as well”, he continues.

The games industry is changing rapidly and the result is a significant architectural change which sees key logical components of a typical game being moved to the backend or server-side.  “There are so many things happening in our industry right now that makes it difficult for a studio, any studio large or small, to keep up.” said Griffin Parry, CEO of GameSparks.  “New platforms, new devices, new business models, socialisation – these are things that are having a big impact.  The result is a move from ‘Game’ to ‘Game + Cloud’ and GameSparks intends to make that transition easier for games makers worldwide.”

This is the second time in quick succession that GameSparks has been recognised by Develop, one of the industry’s leading publications, having been listed in the 100 Top European Start-ups at the end of 2013.  The company is delighted to get recognised in this way. This brand new edition of the Develop 100 is available now and is completely free.
